The Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi has launched the Delhi Electric Vehicle Interconnector (DEVi) initiative. As part of this initiative, 400 electric buses will operate between metro stations and key bus terminals in the city. The initiative aims to improve public transport access for last-mile connectivity and is being implemented under the leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Smt Rekha Gupta.

The DEVi buses were flagged off by Chief Minister Smt Rekha Gupta in the presence of Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and other government officials.
The DEVi fleet is intended to address gaps in last-mile public transportation by connecting metro stations with surrounding areas. The buses will operate in East and West Delhi, including localities such as Ghazipur, Vinod Nagar East, and Nangloi. Each bus has 23 seats, including 6 reserved for women, and can accommodate 13 standing passengers. The fare structure ranges from ₹10 to ₹25, and travel is free for women passengers. Buses are scheduled at intervals of approximately 10 minutes.

The DEVi initiative includes modern Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS) features such as GPS tracking, automatic passenger counting, digital route displays, voice announcements, CCTV surveillance, panic buttons, wheelchair ramps, and adjustable flooring for improved accessibility.
At the launch event, Smt Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister, Government of Delhi, said, “The Government is working with the vision of transforming Delhi into a world class city with integrated smart transportation systems.
