Pune, May 20, 2025: Royal Enfield gears up for its most iconic and longest-running ride – Himalayan Odyssey, a holy grail for motorcycling and adventure riders. Celebrating its 21st edition this year, the ride will cover the expanse of the Himalayas, scaling the breathtaking terrain of Ladakh, Spiti, and Zanskar, and across Umling La—the highest motorable pass in the world. The ride will see participation from 70 riders from around the globe. This 18-day, 2,600-kilometre ride embodies the ‘Motorcycling Way of Life’, giving many the opportunity to tick off a bucket list item and fulfil a long-held dream. With riders of all skill levels participating, Himalayan Odyssey is a journey of self-discovery where many begin as motorcyclists and return as adventurers, enriched by unforgettable memories and the camaraderie of a community bonded by their shared love for the open road.
Beginning on June 28, 2025, riders will traverse challenging trails, scenic mountain twisties, smooth tarmac, dirt tracks and exhilarating water crossings across the Himalayas. Whether part of Team Spiti or Team Zanskar, every participant will experience the unmatched thrill of crossing some of the world’s highest motorable mountain passes on a motorcycle. To ensure a worry-free ride on varied terrains, Himalayan Odyssey offers comprehensive logistical, mechanical, and medical support along the way.
Designed to build endurance and spirit of every rider, both mentally and physically, this year’s route traverses through Sarchu, known for its starry skies, Padum in Zanskar, a cultural gem surrounded by snow-covered peaks, and Kaza in Spiti — home to Komic, the highest village in Asia. More than an expedition, the Himalayan Odyssey has delivered an experience like no other for 20 years now. It’s an experience rooted in self-discovery, a greater sense of purpose, and the kind of bonds only the open road can forge.
Royal Enfield will continue its commitment to #LeaveEveryPlaceBetter, encouraging riders to travel responsibly and protect the environment. The brand’s deep commitment towards this cause ensures travel takes an eco-conscious turn that preserves local ecosystems by reducing wastage, limits single-use plastics and supports local regenerative initiatives by the community. Camp Kharu is one such instance where this green pit stop becomes a local flagbearer of environmentally friendly travel and thoughtful exploration.
