Google rolls out iOS 16 lock screen widgets
1 min readGoogle has begun rolling out iOS 16 lock screen widgets, which had been teased together with the launch of Apple’s new cell working system — iOS 16. According to a report, the rollout of latest widgets for apps like Gmail and Google News observe the updates to the Chrome and Drive apps.
Google is but to announce widgets for Search, Maps and Google Calander. Gmail widgets are available three sizes: round, rectangular and inline. The round and rectangular widgets seem under the clock on the lock screen, whereas the inline widget with a shortened date and notifications seems above as a line of textual content. The rectangular widget breaks down messages into classes: social, updates and promotions.
The Google News widget showcases brief headlines on the lock screen when tapped and redirects to the app. Widgets to Chrome and Drive arrived earlier, offering fast entry to advised recordsdata and the power to carry out Google Search proper from the lock screen.
