Indian PM Narendra Modi inaugurates country’s longest cable-stayed bridge named ‘Sudarshan Setu’ in Gujarat
2 min readIndian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated India’s longest cable-stayed bridge referred to as the ‘Sudarshan Setu’ in Gujarat’s Dwarka.
The bridge connects Okha and Beyt Dwarka island, and has been constructed at the price of Rs. 979 crore.
PM Modi had laid the muse stone of the two.3 km-long bridge in October 2017, stating that it’s going to function a hyperlink between previous and new Dwarka.
“The four-lane 27.20 metre large bridge has 2.50 metre large footpaths on either side,” an official launch mentioned.
Some fascinating information about Sudarshan Setu
Sudarshan Setu boasts a novel design, that includes a footpath adorned with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and pictures of Lord Krishna on either side.
The bridge, which was generally known as ‘Signature Bridge’, has been renamed as ‘Sudarshan Setu’ or Sudarshan Bridge.
Beyt Dwarka is an island close to Okha port, which is sort of 30 km from Dwarka city, the place the well-known Dwarkadhish temple of Lord Krishna is located.

Ahead of inaugurating the bridge, PM Modi supplied prayers at Dwarkadhish temple.
The Prime Minister this afternoon may even inaugurate Gujarat’s first All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rajkot.
Besides the Rajkot AIIMS, the Prime Minister may even nearly inaugurate 4 newly-built AIIMS in Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
