“I am starting a new company”: OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever launches rival AI firm

Ilya Sutskever, one of many co-founders of AI large OpenAI, has introduced the launched of a rival synthetic intelligence firm. The new firm is called Safe Superintelligence Inc (SSI). The announcement comes simply a month after the 37-year-old left OpenAI.

The Israeli-Canadian laptop scientist resigned from the Sam Altman-led firm in May 2024 after a fall-out with the management at OpenAI.

In a publish on X social media platform, Sutskever stated: “SSI is our mission, our title, and our whole product roadmap, as a result of it’s our sole focus”.

“We plan to advance capabilities as quick as potential whereas ensuring our security at all times stays forward. This method, we are able to scale in peace,” learn the publish.

Sutskever introduced that the new firm is “assembling a lean, cracked crew of the world’s greatest engineers and researchers devoted to specializing in SSI and nothing else”.
