Will it make an announcement regarding the 8th Pay Commission?
The government has received a proposal from employee organizations to bring the 8th Pay Commission. It is believed that the government can accept it. If this happens, the government can announce it in the budget. If the government does this, the salary of government employees working on small posts will also increase.
18 months DA arrears?
The central government used to increase the DA of central employees twice a year in January and July, but during the time of Covid, the government did not increase any dearness allowance from January 2020 to June 2021. After this, the government directly increased the dearness allowance by 11 percent on July 1, 2021. Nothing was said about the DA which was not increased three times before that.
However, then the dearness allowance was 17 percent, which was increased by 11 percent to 28 percent. Since then, central employees are expecting to get this 18 months’ DA arrears from the government. However, the government has said many times that it has no intention of giving the pending arrears of 18 months.
