The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in many districts of Uttar Pradesh for the next few days. The IMD has predicted heavy rains in Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and surrounding areas today (August 16). The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for these districts.

On August 17, there may be rain in Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Ambedkar Nagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit and surrounding areas. Yellow alert has also been issued for these areas. Waterlogging, damage to mud buildings, impact on power operations, impact on traffic, floods in rivers and damage to crops may occur in these areas.
