The whole matter is like this. A lawyer booked an Indigo flight ticket from Lucknow to Bangalore and was surprised to see a “cute fee” in the payment details of the ticket. A lawyer who booked a flight ticket from Lucknow to Bangalore questioned Indigo Airlines about the “cute fee”. He jokingly asked whether this fee is being charged for the “cuteness” of the passengers or for the “cuteness” of the aircraft?
This funny and interesting incident became a topic of discussion on social media. This post went viral on social media. IndiGo clarified that the “cute fee” is actually charged for the equipment used at the airport.

This post created a stir on social media and was viewed more than 1.7 million times. On this, IndiGo airline clarified that “CUTE fee” means “Common User Terminal Equipment” fee, which is charged for the use of metal detectors, escalators and other equipment used at the airport.

Apart from this, the lawyer also raised questions about “User Development Fee” and “Aviation Security Fee”. He asked whether this fee is necessary in addition to the taxes paid to the government for the safety of the passenger? On this, IndiGo said that “User Development Fee” is charged for the development and maintenance of airport infrastructure, while “Aviation Security Fee” is charged for airport operators.
