2 min read

As technology advances, parents are increasingly focused on enhancing their children’s learning experiences. Educational toys, which foster cognitive and problem-solving skills, are now surpassing traditional toys in popularity. A recent survey by Blix Education highlights a notable shift in parental preferences, with many opting for DIY educational toys to better equip their children for the future.

In a world driven by technology, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education has become a priority. The survey found that 87% of parents prefer investing in DIY educational toys that incorporate STEM concepts. Since these toys support learning at home, parents are increasingly choosing them over traditional toys.

Commenting on the findings, Abbas Gabajiwala, founder and CEO of Blix Education, stated, “Educational toys are not just for play—they are vital tools for preparing children for the future. As STEM education gains importance, parents are selecting toys that encourage learning. By investing in these educational toys, they are equipping their children with the skills necessary to thrive in tomorrow’s competitive landscape.”

As critical thinking and problem-solving become essential skills, the survey revealed that 87% of parents are more inclined to purchase educational toys, believing they help children develop future-ready abilities. Additionally, 85% of parents see these toys as beneficial for preparing their children for careers in science and technology. With 88% agreeing that educational toys significantly aid in development by promoting active learning, exploration, and logical thinking, the integrated STEM concepts help bridge the gap between play and real-world problem-solving.

“Educational toys play a pivotal role in enhancing cognitive skills in today’s fast-evolving world. Whether building robots or exploring science kits, these toys help children lay a solid foundation for success, especially in science and technology,” Abbas added.

While both educational and traditional toys have a place in a child’s life, educational toys focus more on learning and skill development, whereas traditional toys enhance social interactions and imaginative play. Parents, recognizing these differences, are increasingly choosing educational toys to provide a well-rounded developmental experience for their children.
