Cancer Patients Applaud CIMS for Their Unmatched Support

Celebrates ‘Diwali with a Purpose 2024’ with enthusiasm

PUNE: While reports often highlight the neglect of underprivileged patients, it was heartening to witness not just any patients but even those in advanced stages of cancer showering praises on Care India Medical Society’s (CIMS) Vishranti Hospital. The annual celebration, ‘Diwali with a Purpose 2024,’ organized by CIMS, witnessed overwhelming testimonials from numerous cancer patients, expressing their deep gratitude toward Vishranti Hospital. The event was held at the Charaka Auditorium of Pune’s Command Hospital and saw a gathering of cancer patients, their parents, relatives, and other dignitaries.

The event’s Chief Guest was Surgeon Vice Admiral Aarti Sareen, Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). Other dignitaries present on stage included Lieutenant General Sandeep Thareja, Director & Commandant, AFMS; Major General B. Nambiar, Commandant of Command Hospital, Pune; Colonel (Retd.) N.S. Nyayapathi, Founder Trustee of CIMS; Dr. Vatsala Swamy, Dean of D.Y. Patil Medical College; Sandeep Kapoor, CEO of The Hans Foundation, Delhi; and Lieutenant General (Retd.) M.A. Tutkane, Trustee of CIMS.

In the event’s first half, cancer patients shared their stories about CIMS and Vishranti Hospital. They mentioned how stepping into Vishranti Hospital, with its positive ambiance, welcoming staff, and impeccable cleanliness, felt like a battle half won, with the remaining healing taken care of by the hospital’s expert doctors.

Numerous patients shared their experiences as to how everyone was treated with warmth and the latest in medical care without biases of the patient’s caste, creed, and financial background. Their testimonials moved the audience, leading to a standing ovation in honor of the entire team of CIMS and Vishranti Hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, Surgeon Vice Admiral Aarti Sareen said, “The dedication and commitment of CIMS and Vishranti Hospital toward patient care is commendable. They have been serving patients for over 30 years with state-of-the-art medical facilities and a compassionate staff. We stand with them in this mission and will continue to support each other in every possible way.”

Lieutenant General Sandeep Thareja (Director & Commandant, AFMC) said, “A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. Cancer patients need support and strong encouragement alongside treatment. When we instill confidence in patients to fight together, treatments become more effective. Vishranti Hospital provides such morale-boosting treatment, which is truly commendable.”

Major General B. Nambiar highlighted that treatments tailored to the psychological needs of patients often yield better outcomes and praised the hospital’s exemplary expertise in managing cancer diagnosis, treatment, surgery, and post-therapy care.
