The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that cyclonic circulation has become active in the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean, South Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal at this time. Due to this, a low pressure area has formed, which will gradually move northwest and can intensify into a depression in the Bay of Bengal around November 25. After this, this storm will move towards the coast of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. Apart from this, a western disturbance has also become active near Afghanistan, whose effect can also cause a change in the weather.
There will be heavy rain in these states.
The Meteorological Department has issued orange and red alerts for heavy rains from 25-29 November. This heavy rain can be seen mainly in the states of South India and Northeast India.
- Very heavy rains are likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala during November 25-29.
- There is a warning of thunderstorms and lightning along with heavy rains in coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh on November 26 and 27.
- Apart from this, northeastern states like Assam, Meghalaya, and West Bengal may also receive rain.
- Wind speed reaching 35-55 kmph is likely over Kerala and Tamil Nadu coast on 26-27 November.
Cold is likely to increase.
Cold has started increasing in North India. Temperatures are falling in many states of North India, due to which the effect of cold is likely to increase.
- Dense fog may occur over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh during morning and night hours on 24th and 28-30th November.
- Cold is likely to increase in Himachal Pradesh by 27-29 November.
- Dense fog may also occur in Uttar Pradesh between 28-30 November.
- There is also a possibility of fog in Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal and Sikkim.
Minimum temperature drop
- Minimum temperatures may be 1 to 3 degrees Celsius below normal in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Telangana and Chhattisgarh.
- The plains of North India, like Hisar in Haryana and Sikar in Rajasthan, may witness minimum temperatures reaching up to 8 degrees Celsius.
