Bank Holiday: All banks will remain closed tomorrow on Thursday. According to RBI, banks will remain closed in Goa on Thursday but bank branches will remain open in all other states of the country.

In other states of the country like Delhi, UP, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, bank branches will work normally and all branches will work. Know here why RBI has given holiday to the banks of Goa.

Goa Liberation Day will be celebrated on Thursday, December 19. Goa Liberation Day is celebrated every year on December 19. This day is celebrated to commemorate Goa’s independence from Portuguese rule in 1961. Goa was under Portuguese rule for about 450 years, but it gained independence after a long struggle and a military operation under the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Vijay’. In this operation, the Indian Army liberated Goa within 36 hours and ended Portuguese rule. Goa Liberation Day is an opportunity to honor the glorious history of the state and the courage of freedom fighters.

  • December 19 (Thursday): Banks will remain closed only in Goa on account of Goa Liberation Day.
