Kia Syros compact SUV interior teased with exciting new features
2 min readKia is gearing up for the India debut of its latest compact SUV, the Syros, on December 19. Positioned between the Sonet and the Seltos in Kia’s domestic lineup, the Syros is expected to offer premium features and could come with two engine options. The official price announcement is likely to happen at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in Delhi.
Kia has been teasing the Syros for several weeks, unveiling key details about its design and features. The latest teaser video highlights the SUV’s triple-beam vertical LED headlamps and L-shaped LED DRLs, alongside its panoramic sunroof.
Inside, the Syros promises a range of premium features. The cabin includes push-button engine start/stop, park assist, automatic gear shifter, ample storage spaces, a charging pad, and charging ports. The equipment list is extensive, featuring ambient lighting, a floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation and connected tech, a multi-functional steering wheel with mounted controls, and various drive modes. Safety is also a priority, with six airbags and multiple safety features as standard.
The Syros is expected to be larger than the Sonet, providing a more spacious and practical cabin. Its design takes cues from the EV9 and Soul, with tall pillars and upright styling elements. Under the hood, it will likely offer two engine options: a 1.0L turbocharged three-cylinder petrol and a 1.5L four-cylinder diesel. Transmission options are expected to include a six-speed manual and a dual-clutch automatic.
Additional features of the Syros will include a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, ventilated front seats, a layered dashboard, automatic climate control, ADAS, and a 360-degree camera system.
Kia plans to expand the Syros lineup in the future, potentially adding hybrid and fully electric variants. With the expected price announcement in January, customer deliveries in India are likely to begin shortly thereafter.
