KTR Writes to CM to Hold Discussion on Formula-e-race Issue in Assembly
2 min readHyderabad: BRS party working president KTR on Wednesday wrote an open letter to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and demanded him to hold a discussion on the controversial E car race issue in the State assembly. In his letter, he claimed that the State government had been making a number of baseless allegations against the previous BRS government, especially against him over the past few months on the Formula E race issue.
“There were also news reports that an hour-and-a-half-long discussion on the matter was also held at the cabinet meeting chaired by the CM this week. If there is a debate on this issue in front of four crore people in the Assembly rather than a debate between the four walls, everyone will know what the truth is,” he said. The previous government entered into an agreement with the organisers of the Formula E race with the noble intention of benefiting Telangana State and Hyderabad city. The race was successfully conducted in 2023, earning praise from all quarters.
KTR said the previous government had entered into an agreement with the organisers of the Formula E race with good intention of doing good to the State of Telangana and the city of Hyderabad and added that the race had benefited the State’s economy to the tune of around Rs 700 crore, according to a report by Nielsen. “In 2024, another round of race was to be held, but as soon as your government came to power, it was unilaterally cancelled. Since then, your Congress government has been trying to spread many untruths about this race through the media as part of political vendetta and create misconceptions that something has happened in it. The Formula-E race deal was all transparent. I have already explained that payments to the race organisers were also made in a transparent manner. But your government is not giving up its propaganda. The people of the State have the right to know what the truth is. Therefore, I demand that you should put up a discussion on this issue in the Assembly,” he demanded. He said if there is a detailed discussion in the Legislative Assembly on this issue, the truth would be revealed.
