Mahindra has unveiled its first set of Born Electric vehicles, the XEV 9e and BE 6e, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards electric mobility. Both models are built on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform and come with an array of advanced features and impressive specifications. Here’s everything you need to know about the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e:

Prices

BE 6e: Starting at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

XEV 9e: Starting at Rs 21.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

Battery and Range

Both models are powered by a 79kWh LFP battery.

Range: Up to 656 km for the XEV 9e and 682 km for the BE 6e (MIDC). The WLTP range is 533 km and 550 km, respectively.

Fast DC charging capability: 20 to 80 percent charge in just 20 minutes.

Design and Features

BE 6e

Exterior: Sharp, edgy design with pronounced wheel arches, black cladding, and unique air ducts for better aerodynamics.

Interior: Spacious and tech-laden with a high-performance 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, multiple drive modes, auto parking assist, and Level 2 ADAS.

XEV 9e

Exterior: Sleek, coupe-like profile with sharp cuts and a futuristic front fascia. Aerodynamic elements include flush door handles and a muscular shoulder line.

Interior: Similar high-tech features as the BE 6e, with a focus on luxury and comfort.

Dimensions

XEV 9e: Length – 4,789 mm, Ground Clearance – 207 mm, Boot Space – 663 liters (plus 150 liters frunk).

BE 6e: Length – 4,371 mm, Ground Clearance – 207 mm, Boot Space – 455 liters (plus 45 liters front frunk).

Performance

Powertrain: 210 kW (282 bhp) and 380 Nm of peak torque for the larger battery; 231 bhp for the smaller 59 kWh unit.

Acceleration: 0 to 100 kmph in 6.7 seconds for BE 6e and 6.8 seconds for XEV 9e.

Safety and Technology

Both models are built on the INGLO platform, co-developed with Volkswagen, featuring semi-active independent dampers, advanced lithium phosphate battery, brake-by-wire technology, and high power steering with variable gear ratio.

Mahindra claims a 5-star safety rating for both models, based on internal testing.

Availability

Deliveries will begin in a phased manner from January 2025, with full-scale delivery expected by the end of February or early March 2025.

Mahindra has introduced a new Infinite logo exclusive to its EV lineup, representing infinite possibilities, alongside the Twin Peaks logo.
