5 New Models Launching Soon

Indian automakers are set to expand the sub-Rs 10 lakh compact SUV segment with five fresh entries designed for improved drivetrains, safety systems and in-cabin tech. The influx underscores growing demand for affordable yet feature-rich models as buyers lean toward electrified and hybrid options.

1. Tata Punch Facelift

Tata Motors plans a mid-cycle update for the Punch, mirroring design elements from its electric variants. Though the powertrain and transmission will remain unchanged, expect revised front fascia, new wheel designs and updated infotainment features.

2. New Hyundai Venue

Slated for a September debut, the next-generation Venue will feature a redesigned exterior and reworked cabin layout. The existing petrol engines may continue, while a Level 2 ADAS package could mark Hyundai’s first foray into semi-autonomous features in this price band.

3. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV

Mahindra is preparing an electric version of the XUV 3XO ICE, targeting sub-400 km real-world range. Positioned below the XUV 400, the EV may share its battery architecture but arrive at a lower price point to challenge rivals like the Tata Punch EV.

4. Maruti Fronx Smart Hybrid

Spy shots hint at a hybrid powertrain for the Fronx akin to the system used in export-market Dzire. The addition will boost fuel efficiency and provide electric-assist during acceleration without altering cabin layout or chassis.

5. Renault Kiger Facelift

Camouflaged Kiger prototypes signal exterior tweaks and minor cabin upgrades. The facelift will refresh the front grille and lighting elements, while retaining the current engines and manual/AMT transmission options.
