New Design, Tech, and Off-Road Features

Land Rover has introduced an updated version of the Defender, incorporating a range of enhancements across design, interior features, and off-road capabilities. These refinements aim to boost the SUV’s functionality and market appeal, reinforcing its position as one of the brand’s top-selling models.

The refreshed Defender showcases revised lighting components, including redesigned front headlamps with new signature detailing and standard integrated fog lamps. At the rear, the vehicle now sports tail lights with smoked lenses that are seamlessly integrated into the body for a more streamlined appearance.

Exterior upgrades extend to the bumpers, which have undergone surface optimization, and new textured finishes on bonnet inserts and side vents. The Defender-branded wheel caps now feature a glossy black finish, complementing new 22-inch seven-spoke alloy wheel designs. Additional colour options have been added, notably the Patagonia White Matter exterior wrap available for the Octa and all V8 variants.

The Defender’s accessory lineup has also expanded, introducing an expedition roof rack, crossbars, and enhanced underbody protection to support rugged use. The Octa variant gains an optional 4,500 kg-rated winch with a carbon fiber cover, while the Defender 130 offers an integrated air compressor for tire pressure adjustment during off-road excursions.

Inside, the cabin features a larger 13.1-inch touchscreen, replacing the previous 11.4-inch display, improving infotainment usability. A new adaptive off-road cruise control system debuts, building on Land Rover’s All Terrain Progress Control . This system autonomously manages throttle and braking on challenging terrain, allowing drivers to focus solely on steering.

The Defender continues to be available in 90, 110, and 130 body styles, retaining its existing engine lineup. Powertrain options include a 2.0-litre petrol engine, a 2.0-litre plug-in hybrid, a 3.0-litre diesel, a 5.0-litre supercharged V8, and a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8. The updated model has launched in the UK market and is expected to arrive in India by next year.
