POGS Medicolegal Masterclass Wraps Up with Impressive Attendance of Over 155 Professionals
PUNE: The Pune Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society (POGS) recently organized a highly impactful Medicolegal Masterclass at IMA Hall, Tilak Road, with the theme “Better to prepare and prevent than repair and repent.” Over 155 gynecologists participated enthusiastically, making the event a grand success.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mr. Shailesh Balkawade, Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Crime, Pune, and Dr. Nagnath Yempalle, Civil Surgeon, Pune, as Guests of Honor.
Shailesh Balkawade emphasized that doctors must act according to legal guidelines and assured police support for the medical fraternity. He informed attendees that the Pune Police has created WhatsApp groups where doctors can directly report any issues, ensuring prompt assistance. He also addressed key issues concerning PCPNDT, POCSO, and MTP laws, offering clarity and guidance.
Dr. Nagnath Yempalle highlighted the critical role of gynecologists in saving women’s lives and stressed the importance of mutual understanding between doctors, patients, and society during emergencies. He urged cooperation among the medical community, police, and the public to ensure effective healthcare.
The masterclass was led by POGS President Dr. Manish Machave, General Secretary Dr. Nilesh Balkawade, Treasurer Dr. Samidha Dalvi, Medicolegal Committee Chairperson Dr. Meenakshi Deshpande, and MTP Committee Chairperson Dr. Madhu Juneja, who were present on the dais.
