New Delhi, India, February 18, 2025: Tesla, the global electric vehicle (EV) giant, has officially begun hiring in India, marking a significant step toward its long-anticipated entry into the country. The company recently posted job openings on its LinkedIn page for 13 positions based in Mumbai and Delhi, covering roles in sales, customer support, service operations, and business support.
Among the listed positions are Store Manager, Service Advisor, Parts Advisor, Service Manager, and Service Technician, indicating Tesla’s intent to establish retail and service infrastructure in key Indian cities. This move follows a high-profile meeting between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington, which appears to have accelerated the company’s expansion plans.
Tesla has been eyeing the Indian market for several years, but its entry was delayed due to high import tariffs and regulatory challenges. However, recent policy changes, including reductions in import duties for EV manufacturers committed to local production, have created a more favorable business environment. The hiring spree suggests Tesla is now ready to move forward with setting up showrooms and service centers, bringing its electric vehicles closer to Indian consumers.
India, the world’s third-largest automobile market, presents a lucrative opportunity for Tesla’s growth.
