Curated by Greend India, a plant-based vegan marketplace which was held at True Tramm Trunk in Powai on February 26th, 2023
Sustaina-Bash “The Sustainable Vegan Bash”
Thrift Edition yoked together two movements—veganism and sustainability—the
need of the hour with the climate crisis looming large over our planet. The rooftop market of the multi storey venue, featured a thrifting section, with proceeds going towards NGOs that support and shelter animals, such as the Kalote Animal Trust.
It was also the right place to be in, if you wanted to make a switch from a sedentary lifestyle to a planet-friendly and cruelty-free lifestyle. You could choose from 6 lifestyle, accessories, and skincare brands – Arotatvika, Arabella, Batti & Co, Disguise, Abhinaya and Yarning for Love while they showcased their full range of products. There were 3 racks of 200+ pre-loved fashionable garments (in great condition) to thrift from.
One could also hum along with Vikas Dubey’s melodious voice while shopping and then head to the set vegan menu on the food court on the upper storie, which included drool-worthy pairings of vegan Bolognese pasta, vegan pizzas, and entrees with different vegan wines. The Wheel of Fortune was a thrill to participate – it guaranteed a prize which ranged from discounts at various stalls to a free vegan appetiser!
Vegan Goes Sustainable
This curated event by Greend India aimed to bring together like-minded people and businesses that
can benefit from their support. Greend’s focus on sustainability was also seen in their efforts to reduce packaging waste. They had a (Mumbai based) collection program through which they collected reused boxes and cartons from visiting customers and further incentivised it by offering discounts and store credits to those who dropped them off.
Greend India was founded by Sephra Abraham in 2019 to make plant-based living easier with their curated vegan food and lifestyle products. They offer a variety of vegan products ranging from skincare and menstrual hygiene to snacks and mock meat delicacies.
