Tata Power signs MoU with Odisha Government to train ITI students in power sector skillsBengaluru, 23 December, 2023: Tata Power, India’s largest built-in energy firm, has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Skill Development and Technical Education Department of the Odisha authorities to impart industry-relevant coaching to college students enrolled in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). These ITIs are positioned throughout the license space of the 4 Discoms which Tata Power runs on a public-private partnership mannequin with the Government of Odisha. The provoke is in-line with the state governments ‘Skilled in Odisha’ programme.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Reghu G, IAS, Director of Technical Education and Training, and Mr. Sanjay Banga, President of Transmission and Distribution at Tata Power in Bhubaneswar, within the presence of Smt Usha Padhee, IAS, Principal Secretary of the division, Sri Gangadhar Sahoo, IAS, OSD cum Additional Secretary, Sri Tapan Kumar Satapathy, OAS (SAG), Additional Secretary to the federal government and different senior officers .

The MoU is a collaborative initiative between Tata Power and the Odisha authorities to empower the younger expertise within the state and make them industry-ready by focused packages. Covering 20 ITI’s within the first yr, as a part of this initiative, Tata Power intends to impart an unique program designed to improve the abilities of scholars enrolled in these ITIs. These packages are particularly tailor-made to enhance their employability and get higher placement alternatives within the energy sector, aligning with the evolving wants of the {industry}.
