TN Budget: Rs 500 cr allocated for CM’s breakfast scheme for schoolchildren
2 min readTamil Nadu Finance minister Dr P.T.R. Thiagarajan on Monday allocated Rs 500 crore in the direction of the Chief Minister’s breakfast scheme for authorities faculty college students within the state.
While tabling the state funds 2023-24 within the Assembly, Finance Minister Thiagarajan mentioned that presently, 1.48 lakh college students are benefitted in 1,937 colleges by the scheme.
Since it has resulted in elevated attendance in colleges, the scheme will now be prolonged in all the federal government major colleges of the state. He mentioned that 18 lakh college students will likely be benefitted by extending the scheme to all major colleges.
In the funds speech, the state finance minister mentioned that M. Karunanidhi memorial multi-super specialty hospital in Guindy will likely be unveiled this yr. A library named ‘Kalaignar Nootrandu Noolagam’ will likely be established in June with world class services for college students, together with the differently-abled.
Schools which can be presently functioning beneath the Adi Dravidar Welfare division, BC, MBC, Minority welfare division, HR&CE division will likely be introduced beneath the college training division and merged.
The funds, in line with the finance minister, allocated Rs 40,299 crore for the college training division and an quantity of Rs 6,967 crore for the Higher training division.
