Air India Express increased flights in winter, passengers will get relief with direct flights to many cities

Where are new flights increasing from
Airline company Air India Express has announced to increase flights from three destinations of Northeast Guwahati, Agartala and Imphal under its winter schedule. This is part of the program of the airline providing budget flights to expand winter services across the country. The airline informed in a statement that it has been decided to increase flights from North-East.
Which cities will the airline connect with the new services
It provides direct connectivity to eight domestic destinations namely Agartala, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur and Kolkata. The airline also provides one-stop connectivity to 18 domestic destinations and six international destinations from Guwahati. Since adding Agartala as a station in September 2024, the airline has increased its weekly flights from 14 to 21. It connects two destinations i.e. Guwahati and Kolkata directly. Apart from this, the airline also provides one-stop connectivity to 11 domestic destinations from Agartala.
Number of weekly flights increased from 63 to 106
Air India Express has increased its flight operations from Guwahati to 106 weekly flights from 63 last winter. The statement said that in Imphal, the airline has increased its weekly flights to 34 this season, which is 20 more than last winter.
The airline’s management expressed happiness
Ankur Garg, Chief Commercial Officer of the airline, said that this expansion not only facilitates easy travel for those wishing to explore the Northeast, but also strengthens Guwahati’s role as an important link with the rest of the country. He also said, “Our fleet now has more than 90 aircraft and is growing rapidly. We are well positioned to support the emerging needs of emerging Indian cities.”
