Now it will be mandatory for the jawans to buy tickets during rail travel. Earlier, the Railways had changed the rules regarding waiting tickets.

Regarding its new rule, the railways said that it is now mandatory for the railway police personnel to buy tickets during their journey. Suppose if the personnel want to travel for free, then they will have to take valid permission from their senior officers. Now just an identity card will not suffice. The ministry says that if any accident happens during the journey, then appropriate action can be taken if the ticket is present.

This is the reason behind taking this decision

This decision was taken because recently a Gujarat RPF constable had demanded compensation from the railways due to an accident that happened during travel. He said that he had fallen in the train during duty, so he should be given compensation. The constable was travelling without a ticket. Due to this, the railways have now clarified the rules of travel.

Let us tell you, earlier the railways had made changes in the rules for travelling with waiting tickets. The railways had said in the order that now whether you take a window ticket or any type of waiting, you can no longer travel in the reserved coaches of the railways. If you are caught travelling in reserved coaches with a waiting ticket, then strict action can be taken against you.
