Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with Kuwait’s highest civilian honour, the prestigious ‘Order of Mubarak Al-Kabeer’. The award for his efforts in strengthening India-Kuwait ties was presented by the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, during a ceremony at Bayan Palace.

Prime Minister Modi’s recognition in Kuwait comes as part of his two-day visit to the Gulf nation to bolster India’s diplomatic relations.

This honour is the 20th international award received by PM Modi, reflecting his growing global stature and influence in fostering international partnerships.

1MoU on Cooperation in the Defence Sector between India and Kuwait.This MoU will institutionalise bilateral cooperation in the field of defence. The key areas of cooperation include training , exchange of personnel and experts , joint military exercises , cooperation in defence industry , supply of defence equipment and cooperation in research and development.
2Cultural Exchange Programme (CEP) between India and Kuwait for the period 2025-2029 .CEP will help in greater cultural exchange in art , music , dance , literature and theatre , cooperation in preservation of cultural heritage , research and development in the field of culture and organization of festivals.
3Executive Programme (EP) for Cooperation in the Field of Sports
(2025-2028)
The Executive Programme will strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of sports between India and Kuwait by promoting exchange of visits of sports leaders for experience sharing, participation in programs and projects in the field of sports, exchange of expertise in sports medicine, sports management, sports media, sports science, among others.
4Kuwait’s membership in the International Solar Alliance (ISA).The International Solar Alliance collectively covers the use of solar energy and addresses key common challenges in scaling up the use of solar energy to help member countries develop low-carbon development pathways.
