Microsoft Outage: Online payment gateways failed, employees’ salaries also stuck

This outage, which lasted for about 15 hours, caused 95% of Microsoft computers across the world to completely crash. Many software engineers and technicians of CrowdStrike are engaged in dealing with this problem. However, it will take a few days to resolve it completely. Meanwhile, some experts say that due to this outage, the salaries of many employees around the world may stop.

Let us tell you that on Friday (19 July), due to the worldwide shutdown of Microsoft system, flights, trains, banks, restaurants, digital payments, stock exchanges, supermarkets, TV channels and essential hospital services also came to a halt. The biggest impact was seen on flight services. 3% i.e. about 4,295 flights were cancelled worldwide. In America alone, 1100 flights were cancelled and 1700 were delayed.
The biggest IT crisis in history
Due to such a widespread outage of Microsoft servers, it is being called the biggest IT crisis in history. Some experts are also calling it a digital pandemic. Microsoft got information about this problem on its server at around 5 am on July 19. However, Apple and Linux users were not affected by this outage.

Computer screen turned blue
Due to CrowdStrike’s software update, a message with a blue background started appearing on the screen of computers running on Microsoft OS. This is called Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). Blue Screen of Death is a critical error screen that appears on Windows operating system. When this error occurs, the computer restarts automatically. There is also a possibility of losing data. Microsoft informed the users that this is a third-party issue.
Let us tell you that Crowdstrike is a cyber security company that provides anti-virus services to many big companies of the world. It is being told that the company had made an update in its anti-virus software named Falcon, due to which the systems running on Microsoft OS suddenly shut down and blue screens started appearing. Crowdstrike has a share of about 25% of the world’s anti-virus and computer system protection services.

On one hand, this outage has affected flights, hospitals, restaurants, online delivery, news channels and many essential services, while on the other hand, it has also disrupted the payment gateway. According to Daily Mail, many companies will not be able to pay salaries to their employees on time.
