According to the information, Delhi Railway Station will not be closed permanently, but it will be closed for some time. Railways will close it for some time under the redevelopment plan of New Delhi Railway Station. Let us tell you that in the year 2013, the Ministry of Railways had made a redevelopment plan for about 1300 railway stations in India. Under this redevelopment plan, New Delhi Railway Station will also be redeveloped. Trains will be shifted from New Delhi Railway Station.
Under the redevelopment plan, New Delhi Railway Station will be completely closed by the end of this year. After this, the redevelopment work will begin. About 300 trains run from New Delhi Railway Station every day. These trains will be shifted to nearby stations for redevelopment.
The station may remain closed for four years
Under the redevelopment plan, New Delhi Railway Station will be rejuvenated and this work may take a long time. Earlier, this redevelopment work was planned to be done simultaneously, but according to the latest information, now it can be done in different phases. Information about this was given in the Railway Ministry budget for the year 2023. The redevelopment work of New Delhi Railway Station may take about four years to complete. That is, the railway station is expected to remain closed for about 4 years.
Trains from these stations will be available:
Anand Vihar Railway Station – For passengers travelling towards east, trains will be available from Anand Vihar.
Sarai Rohilla Railway Station – Trains going to Punjab Haryana can be shifted to Sarai Rohilla.
Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station – Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Gujarat side can be shifted to Delhi Cantt and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.
Ghaziabad Railway Station – Along with this, some remaining trains can be shifted to Ghaziabad.
