NO EXIT from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station; Check the traffic route before leaving home

New Delhi. To ensure that people celebrate New Year’s Eve with joy, Delhi Police along with paramilitary forces have made tight security arrangements across Delhi. To ensure that an incident like the one that happened in Kanjhawala on New Year’s Eve two years ago does not occur, which again raises questions on the law and order situation in Delhi. In view of this, it has been decided to make additional security arrangements this time.

Police teams will patrol throughout the night
This time the police will patrol the streets of Delhi on alert throughout the night. PCRs have been specially asked to remain alert. More than eight hundred PCRs will patrol their respective areas throughout the night. The movement of every PCR will be monitored by senior officers sitting in the central control room. Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has instructed all top officials to keep tight security arrangements.
People from NCR come in large numbers to Delhi to celebrate
Both Special Commissioners of Law and Order Madhup Tiwari and Ravindra Singh Yadav have been asked to patrol their respective zones. Joint Commissioners of all ranges, Additional Police Commissioners and DCPs and Additional DCPs of the districts have been asked to remain vigilant and patrol their respective areas. ACPs and police station in-charges will patrol their respective areas throughout the night.
Additional forces have been provided to all 15 districts, which the DCPs of the districts will put on duty as per the need near major markets, malls, pubs, bars, restaurants etc. in their respective districts. The maximum security will be in Connaught Place and Khan Market. A large number of people from the entire NCR come here to celebrate.
No entry in Connaught Place after 8.30 pm
There will be strict restrictions on the entry of vehicles in Connaught Place after 8.30 pm. Most of the routes will be closed by placing pickets. On some routes, only those people who have made bookings in restaurants, pubs, bars and hotels will be allowed entry after checking the booking pass. Checking will be done by placing pickets at various places.
Exit from Rajiv Chowk metro station is closed
To ensure security and crowd control on New Year’s Eve (31 December 2024), exit from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station will not be allowed after 9:00 pm. However, passengers will be allowed entry till the departure of the last train from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station on 31 December.

Apart from this, to implement these measures, after 8 pm tonight, exit QR tickets from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station will not be issued through DMRC’s mobile app. At the same time, metro services on the rest of the network will continue to run as per the regular timeline. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has made this announcement on the advice of police officials.
