NPCI issued guidelines for RuPay Card, free exclusive lounge facility will be available at IGI Airport

New Delhi: National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has issued a new guideline regarding RuPay Card. Under the new guideline, users using RuPay Card will get exclusive airport lounge access.

NPCI’s new guideline also includes complimentary access. After NPCI’s rule, spending of more than Rs 5 lakh will be allowed. These new rules will be effective from January 1, 2025.

NPCI issued a circular and gave information

National Payments Corporation of India said in a circular, “RuPay has set up an exclusive lounge at the T3 departure terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport. This is RuPay’s first exclusive lounge at Boarding Pier 11, T3D near Boarding Gate No. 41… RuPay Exclusive Lounge offers food, drinks and entertainment, which makes it different from other lounges at T3 departure of IGI Airport. RuPay Exclusive Lounge promises a pleasant stay, great menu and first of its kind entertainment experience to its customers…”

These card holders will get the facility

Let us tell you that exclusive lounge access will be available to only select RuPay cardholders and it will be based on their spend. According to NPCI’s circular, “At Terminal 3, Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi, only RuPay credit cardholders (Platinum and higher variants) are allowed RuPay exclusive lounge access. Lounge access will be spend based and will be operated by RuPay Benefit Management System (RBMS). Apart from this, member banks and issuers will have to issue details of eligible cardholders every three months.

Can spend this much

It is known that the spend limit for Tier 1 is Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000. Every three months, 2 complimentary visits will be given, while for Tier 2, the spend limit is Rs 50,001 to Rs 1,00,000 and they will get the facility of 4 free visits in a quarter. Apart from this, the spend limit for Tier 3 is Rs 1,00,001 to Rs 5,00,000 and they will get the facility of 8 free visits in every quarter, while for Tier 4, the spend limit is Rs 5,00,001 or more. Hence, there is no limit on free visits.
