NPCI’s service: You can make UPI payment even without internet, this is the way

New Delhi. Sending and receiving money through Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has made our lives very easy in the country. People pay everyone from grocery stores to vegetable vendors through UPI.

Now UPI payments are being used in many countries of the world. Do you know that you can make UPI payments even from button phones/feature phones? Let us know how you can do this?

According to NPCI, feature phone users will be able to do UPI transactions through IVR number. For this, you have to call the IVR number (080-45163666, 08045163581 and 6366200200) and get your UPI ID verified. Now you have to make your payment after following the instructions given on the call.

UPI payment can be done through USSD without internet, just remember *99#
Apart from UPI 123Pay, there is another way to make payment without internet. You have to use USSD service. For this, first of all you have to dial ‘*99#’ on your GSM smartphone and follow the instructions. However, not all mobile service operators support this service.

What is UPI?

A facility like UPI for digital payment allows you to transfer money easily from home. For this, you need UPI supporting apps like Paytm, PhonePe, Bhim, GooglePay etc. The special thing is that UPI allows you to transfer money even if you have only one information out of scanner, mobile number, UPI ID.
