2 min readPublic Holiday: In October, banks will remain closed for up to 15 days in various states due to various state-specific festivals. These bank holidays will include all Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays. In some states, banks will remain closed for four consecutive days for festivals like Dussehra.

There will be holidays for these many days in these states
- 10 October– Durga Puja/Dussehra (Maha Saptami)— Banks are closed in Tripura, Assam, Nagaland, Bengal.
- 11 October-Dussehra (Mahastami/Mahanavami)/Ayudha Puja/Durga Puja (Dassain)/Durga Ashtami- Banks are closed in Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Meghalaya.
- 12 October- Dussehra/Dussehra (Mahanavami/Vijayadashami)/Durga Puja (Dassain)- Banks are closed in all states like Saturday of the month.
- 14 October- Durga Puja (Dassain)- Banks are closed in Sikkim.
- 16 October- Lakshmi Puja- Banks will remain closed in Tripura and Bengal.
- 17 October- Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti/Kati Bihu- Banks will remain closed in Karnataka, Assam, Himachal Pradesh.
Diwali holidays will come again
26 October- Merger Day- Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar.
Diwali (Deepawali)/Kali Puja/Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birthday/Narak Chaturdashi- Banks will remain closed in most states except Tripura, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya.
