Summer vacation was to start in the schools of Punjab after 10 days from today i.e. from 1st June. But due to rising temperatures, all schools have been ordered to close prematurely. Schools were to be closed from today itself but due to the order coming late, the holidays will start from tomorrow.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced holidays in all the schools of the state from May 21 to June 30. The Punjab government had given an order a few days ago, in which information about changing the timings of schools was given. But after the sudden change in weather and heatwave alert, orders were issued to close schools immediately. In fact, there was a fear of children’s health deteriorating due to strong sunlight and heat. To avoid this, schools have been closed.

What is the update on Delhi, Haryana, UP summer vacation?
Before Punjab, summer holidays have been announced in many other states also. Summer vacation started in all government and government-aided schools of Delhi from May 11, 2024. At the same time, private schools of Delhi have also been closed. Similarly, summer vacations have started in most of the schools of Uttar Pradesh between May 18-20, 2024. Summer vacation will start in Haryana schools from June 1.
Punjab School Timings: School timings were changed in Punjab.
Heatwave alert has been issued in Haryana. There is a possibility of temperature increasing in the coming days. In this situation, students staying in the hot sun is like playing with their health. That is why the state government has changed the timings of all schools from 7 am. Single shift schools will be closed at 12 noon. At the same time, in double shift schools, the first shift will start from 7 am and the second shift will start from 12.45 pm. The same decision was applicable to Punjab also.
