Sitharaman announces three new railway economic corridors

Finance Minister Nirmal Sitharaman on Thursday introduced the establishing of three new main railway economic corridors.

“These embody the power, mineral and cement hall, a port connectivity hall and a excessive site visitors density hall,” she stated whereas presenting the Interim Budget within the Lok Sabha.

She stated that the railway tasks have been recognized underneath the PM Gati Shakti Yojana for enabling multi-modal connectivity.

“These corridors will speed up GDP progress by enhancing logistics effectivity and decreasing logistics prices,” she stated.

She stated that the decongestion of excessive site visitors corridors will end in enhancing operations, which in flip will end in security and better journey speeds for passengers.

She added that 4,000 railway bogies will likely be upgraded to Vande Bharat requirements for the consolation of passengers.
