In a memorandum, AIFTP national president Narayan Jain and Direct Tax Representation Committee chairman SM Surana said that floods in several states have badly affected the return filing process.

He said that landslides in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have further aggravated these difficulties. The memorandum also claimed that there are persistent problems in the income tax portal and software, with difficulties in downloading and verifying various forms. Additionally, he said that the process of paying self-assessment tax through banks and downloading challans also takes time.
