Air India has launched a plan to improve its domestic network. The airline will improve 5 major metro-to-metro routes from December 1. All flights on these 5 major routes will operate with the airline’s best narrowbody aircraft.

These come with 3 cabin classes business, premium economy and economy. Air India will use its Vistara A320neo aircraft here. Flights on these routes will operate with Air India’s ‘AI’ flight numbers. Air India has also scheduled the timetable of flights, giving customers maximum choice and flexibility.

More than 1000 weekly flights

Air India offers over 1,000 weekly flights on these key routes, including 56 daily flights between Delhi and Mumbai, 36 daily flights between Delhi and Bengaluru and 24 daily flights between Delhi and Hyderabad. The five metro-to-metro routes affected by this new schedule are Delhi to Mumbai, Delhi to Bengaluru, Delhi to Hyderabad, Mumbai to Bengaluru and Mumbai to Hyderabad.

Better facilities will be available

Campbell Wilson, CEO and MD, Air India, said, “The merger of Vistara with Air India has opened up many new opportunities to enhance the facilities offered to our customers. The aircraft deployed on these routes will offer passengers a premium flying experience, with 8 luxurious business class seats offering 41 inches of pitch and 7 inches of recline. There are also 24 extra legroom premium economy seats with 33 inches of pitch. The economy class will have 132 seats with 29 inches of pitch.

Vistara has merged with Air India

Full-service carrier Vistara was merged with Air India this month. Flight numbers operated by Vistara aircraft begin with ‘AI2’, giving passengers a choice at the time of booking. Flights on five metro-to-metro routes will be operated with erstwhile Vistara’s A320 series aircraft, Air India said in a statement. Air India currently has a fleet of 208 aircraft, including about 67 widebody aircraft.
