According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain and snowfall is expected in the western Himalayan regions on 27th and 28th December due to a new western disturbance. At the same time, there are chances of rain and hailstorm in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Gujarat on 27th December and at some places in West Madhya Pradesh on 28th December.

Temperature dropped by one to three degrees

During the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature has increased by one to three degrees in some parts of Uttar Pradesh, East and Central India and decreased by one to three degrees Celsius in some parts of North-West India. According to the Meteorological Department, due to continuous snowfall in the mountains and western disturbances, people in the plains will have to face biting cold.

Rain in many areas of Delhi, cold increased
