On November 7, Bajaj Auto reported a 23.7% year-over-year increase in second-quarter net profit, reaching ₹24.8 billion ($282.15 million). This performance stands in contrast with domestic market challenges, as the company boosted international motorcycle shipments. As India’s largest automotive exporter, Bajaj successfully offset weaker local demand with export-led growth, particularly through its premium KTM motorcycle line.

India’s two-wheeler exports rose 25% during the September quarter. Bajaj contributed significantly to this growth with a 19.2% export increase of its own. Combined sales of two-wheelers and three-wheelers grew by 5.9%, with exports accounting for over 40% of total sales volume. This heavy reliance on global markets continues to shape the company’s strategic direction.

Latin America emerged as a standout market where Bajaj achieved record motorcycle sales. Popular models like the Pulsar and Dominar gained strong traction in international markets including Nigeria, Brazil and Vietnam. While domestic motorcycle sales saw a 4.6% decline (an improvement from the previous quarter’s 8% drop), the company maintained profitability through its international focus.

The quarter saw operational revenue climb 13.7% to ₹149.22 billion, demonstrating Bajaj’s ability to navigate shifting automotive market conditions. This balance between domestic operations and export strategy positions the company for continued resilience amidst economic fluctuations.

With consistent financial growth and strategic global expansion, Bajaj Auto demonstrates adaptability in sustaining profitability. The company’s diversified market approach, product innovation, and international focus provide competitive advantages that could drive long-term industry leadership across emerging markets.
