Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025: Karnataka unveils global skill expo with 50+ exhibitors

Day two of the Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025 witnessed the opening of the Skill Expo, a premier exhibition showcasing global advancements in vocational training and workforce development. Dr. Sharanaprakash Rudrappa Patil, Minister for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood and Medical Education; Priyank Kharge, Minister for Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, and Electronics, IT & BT; and Dr. M.C. Sudhakar, Minister for Higher Education, Government of Karnataka, jointly inaugurated the event alongside Muhammad Reza Cassam Uteem, Minister of Labour and Industrial Relations, Government of Mauritius.

With over 50 exhibitors across diverse sectors, the Skill Expo highlighted groundbreaking skilling technologies, training methodologies, and scalable solutions to enhance India’s global talent leadership. The pavilion served as a dynamic hub for B2B, B2G, and G2G collaborations, attracting industry pioneers, academic institutions, and international stakeholders seeking to advance future-oriented skilling initiatives.

A ministerial panel discussion titled “Convergence of Education, Skills & Industry for a Trillion USD Economy by 2032” preceded the Expo launch. Chaired by Dr. Patil, Priyank Kharge, and Dr. Sudhakar, and moderated by Madan Padaki, Managing Trustee of the Head Held High Foundation, the dialogue centered on synchronizing academia and vocational education with evolving industry demands.

Dr. Patil stressed the need for Karnataka’s skilling infrastructure to align with international benchmarks to achieve economic goals. Kharge underscored the transformative role of digital and AI-driven training in preparing youth for modern industries. Dr. Sudhakar advocated for tighter integration between university curricula and vocational certifications to ensure graduates’ employability.

Mauritius Minister Muhammad Reza Cassam Uteem praised Karnataka’s skill development initiatives, proposing bilateral partnerships to exchange expertise and design joint training programs for tomorrow’s workforce requirements.

The day concluded with “Karnataka Vaibhava,” a cultural showcase honoring the state’s heritage. Shivapriya School of Dance (Bengaluru) and NANDA Performing Arts (Dubai) presented a mesmerizing dance-drama blending classical and folk traditions.

Through international participation, multi-sectoral discourse, and strategic alliances, the Bengaluru Skill Summit 2025 solidifies Karnataka’s status as a catalyst for India’s trillion-dollar economic vision via workforce transformation.
