Big action by America: Visa ban imposed on Indian travel agents

America has taken strict action against those Indian travel agents who were allegedly helping people to go to America through illegal means. America’s visa ban has now been imposed on these agents.
The US State Department has not revealed the names of these agents nor has it said how many people have been caught in this action. However, the department has clearly said that these steps are part of the campaign against “illegal migrant smuggling networks”.

Officials say these travel agencies knowingly arranged routes through which people could reach the US illegally. This action has been taken under the US Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), which allows to stop the granting of visa in such cases.

This step has been taken as part of America’s increasingly strict immigration policy, which promotes illegal entry, border security and speedy deportation.
More than one million visas are issued to Indian citizens in the US every year, but in recent years, cases of visa overstay and illegal migration are being closely monitored. The embassy in the US has also repeatedly warned that overstaying the visa period may result in a lifetime ban along with deportation.
The message is clear: If a travel agency tries to sell illegal routes, their next flight may be to a visa ban rather than to the US.
