Malaysia’s healthcare system has earned global recognition, with several public and private hospitals featured in Newsweek and Statista’s World’s Best Hospitals 2025 list — a proud milestone for the nation.

Health Parliamentary Select Committee Chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, extended his congratulations to the honoured institutions, highlighting the achievement as a reflection of the dedication shown by healthcare leaders, frontliners, and support teams.

“These recognitions reflect the unwavering efforts of our healthcare professionals in delivering patient-centred, compassionate, and high-quality care,” he shared on social media.

Among public hospitals, Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) and Hospital Putrajaya received notable rankings. In the private sector, Sunway Medical Centre in Subang Jaya led with an impressive score of 89.50%, followed by Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur (87.99%) and Subang Jaya Medical Centre (86.35%).

Other private hospitals included in the top 10 were Prince Court Medical Centre, Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Island Hospital (Penang), Pantai Hospital Ampang, KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital, and Ara Damansara Medical Centre.

The global rankings evaluated over 2,400 hospitals across 30 countries, based on surveys from healthcare professionals, patient satisfaction, quality performance indicators, and Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs). Leading the global list were renowned institutions such as Mayo Clinic (Rochester), Cleveland Clinic, and Toronto General Hospital.

Dr Dzulkefly expressed hope that this recognition would motivate ongoing improvements and healthy competition across Malaysia’s healthcare landscape, aligning with the Malaysia MADANI vision for a more inclusive, innovative, and resilient health system.
