‘Not just slogan, but resolve to make India economic power’: Haryana CM on Aatmanirbhar Bharat

Chandigarh, Nov 29: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated on Saturday that the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat represents “more than a slogan — it’s a pledge to position India as a dominant global economic force in this century.”
Speaking at the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Conference in Panchkula, Saini emphasized that insights from the event would accelerate progress toward achieving “Developed India — Developed Haryana” objectives.
He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dual goals: transforming India into a fully developed nation by 2047 and achieving a $5 trillion economy by 2030.
“At its core, Aatmanirbhar Bharat means achieving autonomy across critical sectors — industrial production, agriculture, education, technological innovation, and trade,” Saini explained.
The CM noted how India’s developmental strategy stands on five foundational principles established by the Prime Minister: Economic Expansion, Infrastructure Modernization, Governance Frameworks, Demographic Potential, and Market Demand.
“Haryana contributes significantly to each of these areas. Our state has earned recognition from the Prime Minister as the nation’s ‘Growth Engine,'” Saini remarked.
Regarding agriculture, Saini detailed Haryana’s transition from staple crop leadership to pioneering crop diversification, particularly in pulses and oilseed cultivation.
On industrialization, he mentioned the “Haryana Aatmanirbhar Portal” that streamlines scheme benefits for business owners, revealing that over 12 lakh MSMEs employing 65+ lakh workers have received approximately ₹400 crore through business-friendly initiatives.
The “Padma Programme” is developing industrial clusters across every block, while 1,100+ redundant regulations from 48 departments have been scrapped to improve the investment climate.
“Our recent 11-year track record shows 7.66 lakh new MSMEs creating 39+ lakh employment opportunities,” Saini added.
The Chief Minister emphasized youth empowerment: “We’re training future job creators, not job seekers.” Since implementing the 2022 Startup Policy, over 9,500 startups emerged in Haryana, with 22 receiving ₹1.14 crore in funding recently.
