San Diego Initiative Recognizes Michael Ang as a Leading IT Innovator

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (July 9, 2026) – Michael Ang, founder and CEO of JobElephant, a premier recruitment advertising and technology firm, has been selected as a qualified nominee for the 2026 San Diego Top Tech Awards.  The program honors the region’s top IT leaders and will host its 19th annual ceremony on Sept. 17, 2026, at Snapdragon Stadium.

The San Diego Top Tech Awards, presented by Cox Business, spotlight innovative technology leaders who drive industry advancement with forward‑looking solutions. Ang’s nomination reflects his 25‑year career reshaping talent acquisition, growing JobElephant from a garage‑based startup into a nationally recognized recruitment‑ad tech platform that handles over 93,000 job postings each month for colleges, nonprofits, healthcare providers, and other organizations across the U.S. and abroad.

“San Diego has always been our home base, so this recognition is especially meaningful,” said Michael Ang, CEO and Founder, JobElephant. “We created Horton® and JobStats because HR teams were wasting time guessing where to advertise openings and not enough time measuring the effectiveness of those ads. Our aim has always been to provide concrete data to answer that question.”

Under Ang’s direction, JobElephant’s monthly job ad volume jumped from 1,500 in 2006 to more than 93,000 today—a 6,100% increase. This expansion stems from continuous tech innovation, including the 2018 launch of Horton® with machine‑learning capabilities, the 2024 API integration linking JobElephant’s tools with applicant tracking systems and job boards, and the 2025 rollout of JobStats, powered by Microsoft Power BI.

“Even after 25 years, the challenges HR professionals face keep evolving, so we must evolve with them,” Ang added. “The leap from 1,500 monthly placements to over 93,000 didn’t come from standing still; it came from constantly asking what’s next and building the solutions to meet those needs.”

The award winners will be revealed at the 2026 Top Tech Awards ceremony, scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.

This nomination adds to JobElephant’s growing list of accolades in 2026. In March, the firm was named a finalist in two categories of the international Digital Job Advertising Excellence Awards—Excellence in Client Success and Support and Innovation in Job Advertising. Additionally, JobElephant received nominations in four categories of the 2026 MarTech Breakthrough Awards, including Overall AdTech Company of the Year, AdTech Innovation Award, AI‑Powered Ad Targeting Solution of the Year, and Predictive Analytics Solution of the Year.
