Partnership with EnergyHub, Sunrun, and The Mobility House to Test Massachusetts Residential Vehicle-to-Grid Program for Eversource and National Grid Customers

Collaboration aimed at letting Massachusetts EV owners earn rewards while bolstering grid reliability and lowering costs

Through this initiative, eligible residential customers of Eversource and National Grid in Massachusetts can register their V2G‑enabled electric vehicles (EVs) in ConnectedSolutions. The current ConnectedSolutions program taps flexible capacity from thermostats, batteries, and commercial‑industrial assets to ease grid pressure, and Eversource and National Grid will apply those same resources to evaluate V2G performance.

Participating EVs can help lower costs for all Eversource and National Grid customers. During peak demand periods, they can discharge stored energy to the grid — alleviating strain and boosting overall stability. The potential grid advantages offered by V2G‑enabled EVs are significant, and participating drivers will receive incentives that reflect the value they contribute to the grid.
