  • Celebrating 5 billion deals (and counting!)

inDrive is celebrating a major milestone: the completion of 5 billion deals on its global mobility and urban services platform as of September 2024. The landmark 5 billionth deal was sealed by a driver and passenger in Peru, marking a significant moment for inDrive since the company launched its innovative bid-based pricing model in 2012 with the goal of making ridesharing pricing fairer for both drivers and passengers.

    inDrive (

In the years that followed, inDrive has expanded its mission of challenging injustice and improving people’s lives by extending its innovative bid-based model beyond ridesharing. These services now include city-to-city and intercity transportation, courier deliveries, freight services, as well as other urban solutions such as housekeeping and small home repairs. This growth and diversification reflect inDrive’s evolution from being the world’s second-most downloaded mobility app to a global multi-service platform operating across 46 countries, Egypt is considered among The top markets for inDrive globally and no.1 in The MENA region.

    inDrive (

Over the past 11 years inDrive has leveraged its strong product-market fit across diverse regions, demonstrating a unique ability to scale rapidly and secure leading positions across markets without disproportionately focusing on any single country. This underscores the global customer demand for greater freedom of choice and a desire to take back control from algorithms – precisely what the inDrive model provides.

Mark Loughran, President and Deputy CEO at inDrive, commented:

“I am thrilled to congratulate the entire team at inDrive and thank our loyal community around the globe for having completed 5 billion deals – an important milestone that is a testament to the global scale inDrive has reached over the past decade. More than just a number, each of these transactions represents making a meaningful impact — whether it’s providing services in underserved areas, creating job opportunities, or helping support non–profit initiatives through inVision, which enables access to sports, art and educational opportunities in communities where inDrive operates. Our mission has always been to improve people’s lives, and with this milestone, we are even closer to our goal of positively impacting 1 billion people by 2030. This achievement fuels our commitment to not only sustainably growing our platform but also driving positive social change.”

Since launching ride-hailing, its core service, eleven years ago, inDrive passengers have traveled for a total of 123,500 years, covering a distance of 32 billion km. inDrive has also expanded to include a range of additional services, most recently launching financial services for drivers in Mexico, and continues to grow its operations and expand into new regions – including developed markets – worldwide.

  • New Telecom Rules: Telecom rules will change from October 1, customers will not face any problem

A big change is being made in the rules to be implemented by telecom companies from October 1. According to these rules, now customers will be able to easily know which mobile service (2G, 3G, 4G or 5G) is available in their area.

TRAI has made it mandatory for the companies to display the said information on their website.

TRAI has made strict quality norms for telecom companies to improve 4G and 5G networks. Violating these norms can lead to heavy fines on the companies. Apart from this, strict instructions have been given to telecom operators to curb fake SMS and calls. This rule of TRAI was to come into effect from September 1.

Telecom companies provide different types of data signals in different cities. Somewhere 5G is good and somewhere 2G is better. This new rule has been brought with the aim of giving correct information to the customers and providing them better service.

There will be a change from October 1

From October 1, only secure URLs or OTP links will be sent in messages for communication. Apart from this, by September 30, the first marketing calls starting from the 140 series will be transferred to the digital platform to simplify monitoring.

This rule is important for the customers because it will give them easy access to information about which services are available to them. This will give correct information to the company as well as the customers and it will also be easier for the telecom company to improve its network and answer the questions of the customers.

    Improvement of online services

Apart from this, all telecom companies have been asked to improve their online services. Under this directive, Mobile Telecom Service Rules 2009, Wireless Data Quality Rules 2012 and Service Rules 2006 will be implemented from October.

  • Key Drivers Shaping the Market

    business partnership

As the world of hand tools evolves, several significant trends have emerged, shaping the market landscape. For retailers and resellers specialising in quality European tool brands, staying abreast of these developments is crucial for success. With consumers and industries demanding more specialised, efficient, and durable tools, understanding the key drivers of this evolution can provide a competitive edge.

    1. Demand for Ergonomically Designed Tools

In recent years, ergonomics has become one of the most sought-after features in hand tools. Tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts alike are increasingly aware of the impact poorly designed tools can have on their health. Repetitive strain injuries, hand fatigue, and musculoskeletal issues are real concerns, particularly for professionals who use tools for extended periods.

Hand tool manufacturers have responded by developing products with more comfortable grips, lightweight designs, and better weight distribution. These ergonomically enhanced tools are designed to reduce strain and improve efficiency, thus boosting productivity. As this trend gains momentum, retailers who offer ergonomic tool options stand to benefit by meeting the needs of a more health-conscious market.

    2. Growth in Multi-Functionality and Versatility

As consumers seek to streamline their toolkits, multi-functional tools are becoming a prominent trend. The demand for tools that can perform multiple tasks efficiently is rising, particularly among professional users who value versatility and convenience.

This has led to an influx of innovative hand tools that combine various functions, such as screwdrivers that double as wrenches or hammers that can be adjusted for different tasks. These tools not only save space but also reduce the need for carrying multiple items, making them ideal for both on-site work and home DIY projects. For tool retailers, stocking such multi-functional products could be a key differentiator in a competitive market.

    3. Focus on Sustainability and Eco-Friendly Tools

As sustainability becomes a central concern for industries worldwide, the hand tool market is no exception. Consumers are increasingly looking for products made from eco-friendly materials, such as recycled metals and sustainable plastics. Additionally, manufacturers are focusing on energy-efficient production processes that reduce their carbon footprint.

Retailers who stock eco-friendly tools will not only appeal to environmentally conscious buyers but also contribute to the growing movement towards sustainable living. The rise of ‘green’ tools is not just a trend; it’s becoming an essential consideration for many consumers. By offering tools that align with these values, businesses can position themselves as forward-thinking and socially responsible.

    4. Technological Advancements and Smart Tools

While hand tools are often seen as simple, non-digital items, advancements in technology are beginning to have an impact on this sector. Smart tools, which can connect to mobile devices and provide real-time data, are slowly making their way into the mainstream market. For example, some tools now come with built-in sensors that measure force, torque, and precision, helping users achieve more accurate results.

This trend is especially evident in Australia, where, according to Statista, consumers are increasingly adopting smart home solutions like automated drills and electronic measuring devices to make DIY projects more efficient and convenient. Although still in its early stages, the integration of technology into hand tools is expected to grow in the coming years. Retailers should keep an eye on this trend, as offering smart tools could give them an edge in attracting tech-savvy professionals and hobbyists.

    5. Rise in Premium European Hand Tools

While price will always be a significant factor for consumers, there is a growing appreciation for premium hand tools, particularly those from European manufacturers. Known for their superior craftsmanship, durability, and precision, European tools are highly valued by professionals who require the best performance from their equipment.

Retailers catering to this segment should focus on sourcing and stocking high-quality European brands, which are recognised for their long-lasting nature and attention to detail. For businesses looking to expand their range of premium tools, it’s worth exploring suppliers that specialise in such products.

You can find a variety of these tools when you visit europeantools.com.au, which offers an extensive range of top-tier European brands.

    Key Insights

The hand tool market is evolving rapidly, driven by trends such as ergonomics, multi-functionality, sustainability, technological integration, and a rising demand for premium European brands. For tool retailers and resellers, keeping pace with these developments is crucial to meeting consumer expectations and staying competitive. By stocking innovative, high-quality, and eco-friendly products, businesses can cater to a growing market and ensure they remain relevant in the ever-changing landscape of hand tools.

  • Liquor shops will remain closed on these 6 special dates, Excise Department released the calendar

The festival season is approaching in Delhi, and during this time the sale of liquor will be banned for several days. The Excise Department of the Delhi Government has released a detailed calendar in this regard, which clearly states on which days the liquor shops will remain closed.

It has become necessary for liquor lovers to make plans during these dry days, so that they are not deprived of enjoying their favorite drink.

Dry Days in the Month of October

There will be a total of four days in October when liquor shops will remain closed. It is important to understand the importance of these days:

    1. 2 October – Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti

This day is celebrated as the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, who was a great leader of India’s freedom struggle. The sale of liquor has been banned due to celebrating this day as a national festival.

    2. 12 October – Dussehra

Dussehra, which marks the killing of Ravana, is a major festival of Hinduism. On this day, people of the family and society gather, and its importance increases. Therefore, there will be no sale of liquor on this day.

    3. 17 October – Valmiki Jayanti

The birth anniversary of Saint Valmiki, who is known in Indian literature as the author of ‘Ramayana’, this day will also be celebrated as a liquor ban.

    4. 31 October – Diwali

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an important festival in Hinduism. On this day, family members celebrate together, so the sale of alcohol will be banned on this day as well.

Dry days in the month of November

There will be two important dry days in November as well:

    1. 15 November – Guru Nanak Jayanti

This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the first Guru of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Ji. On this occasion, devotees perform special prayers and spread the message of unity in the society, so the sale of alcohol will be banned on this day as well.

    2. 24 November – Guru Teg Bahadur Martyrdom Day

This day is dedicated to remembering the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur, who was the ninth Guru of Sikhism. The sale of alcohol will be banned on this day as well.

Sale of alcohol continues in hotels

The sale of alcohol will continue in hotels with certain license holders in Delhi, such as L-15 and L-15F licenses. This means that if you are going to a big hotel or bar, you will be able to get alcohol even during these dry days. This rule is applicable only to hotels with a special license, and there will be no restriction on the sale of alcohol in such hotels.

    Know the importance of festivals

The main reason behind these dry days is that the festival season holds social and religious significance. The Delhi government aims to ensure that people celebrate national festivals and major festivals together. This ban on the sale of alcohol promotes unity and harmony in the society, so that people can share happiness with their family and friends.

Thus, it is essential for liquor lovers to note down these dates carefully in their calendars. This festive period is not only important from a religious and cultural point of view, but it also gives a message of unity and brotherhood in our society. In this regard, spending time with your family and participating in various activities during these dry days can be a positive option. Realizing the lack of liquor sales in this festive season, people can engage in other recreational activities, which will give them a new feeling and enjoy the festivals to the fullest.

Noida. After metro, rapid rail, mono rail, now preparations are underway to run light rail in Delhi-NCR. Through the light rail transit system, Noida International Airport will be linked to Film City via Yamuna Expressway. It will be integrated with Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS). According to a TOI report, this decision related to light rail has been taken in the board meeting of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. During this, NCR Transport Corporation gave a presentation on the 72 km long rapid rail. This rapid rail route is planned to be built between Noida Airport and Ghaziabad.

Earlier there was a proposal for pod taxi

After this meeting, officials said that a proposal has been sent to the central government for approval of the proposal for a light rail link from Noida Airport to Film City. Earlier, there was a plan to connect this 14 km long route through pod taxis. A plan was prepared in this regard in 2021. For this, the first tender for 12 stations on the expressway was issued in July last year, with an estimated project cost of Rs 641.5 crore.

However, YEIDA was then tasked to study the options between pod taxis and light rail. After the Uttar Pradesh government approved the 72-km RRTS corridor connecting Ghaziabad and Noida airport, the NCRTC submitted a project report that included the options of pod taxis or light rail.

YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh said, “The plan now is to have three services – metro, RRTS and light rail – on the same track, with only loops and sections different. Metro trains will run at an interval of 3.5 minutes, rapid rail every 7 minutes and light rail every 8 minutes.” The UP government has already approved the plan, which has now been sent to the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry for approval.

India sees strong growth in key mineral, non-ferrous metal production in April-AugIANS

India saw a strong growth in production of some key minerals in the April-August period this fiscal, and iron ore accounted for about 70 per cent of the total mineral production by value, the government said on Saturday.

Robust growth was seen in the production of key minerals and non-ferrous metals, after reaching record production levels in FY24.

As per the Ministry of Mines, production of iron ore was 274 million metric tonnes (MMT) in FY24.

In the first five months this fiscal, production of iron ore reached 116 MMT, showing a healthy 7.4 per cent growth from 108 MMT in the same period in FY24 (as per provisional data).

Production of manganese ore jumped by 15.4 per cent to 1.5 MMT in FY25 (April-August) from 1.3 MMT during the corresponding period of previous year.

According to the ministry, in the non-ferrous metal sector, primary aluminium production posted a growth of 1.3 per cent over the corresponding period last year, increasing to 17.49 lakh tonnes (LT) from 17.26 LT in FY24 (April-August).

India is the second largest aluminium producer, among top 10 producer in refined copper and fourth largest iron ore producer in the worldNASA/JPL-Caltech/MSSS

During the same comparative period, refined copper production has grown by 5.8 per cent from 1.91 LT to 2.02 LT.

India is the second largest aluminium producer, among top 10 producer in refined copper and fourth largest iron ore producer in the world.

According to the ministry, continued growth in production of iron ore in the current financial year reflects the robust demand conditions in the user industry — steel.

The country saw robust growth in production of key minerals, such as iron ore and limestone, in the first quarter of FY25.

“Coupled with growth in aluminium and copper, these growth trends point towards continued strong economic activity in user sectors such as energy, infrastructure, construction, automotive and machinery,” the ministry noted.
