New Zealand: Three Khalistani separatist sentenced for attempted murder of Indian-origin radio host

At least three suspected Khalistan extremists have been convicted of an attempted murder of Auckland-based widespread radio host Harnek Singh, media reviews mentioned.

Sukhpreet Singh, 44, was discovered responsible of being an adjunct, and Sarvjeet Sidhu, 27, pleaded responsible to attempted murder, The Australia Today reported.

One man is an Auckland resident and has been given one of the longest potential jail sentences for the crime, The Australia Today reported quoting NZ Herald.

Harnek Singh, also referred to as Nekki, suffered over 40 stab wounds when he was ambushed by a gaggle of spiritual fundamentalists on December 23, 2020.

Harnek Singh had been adopted by three automobiles full of males and was stabbed “inside an inch of his life”, the information portal reported.

He locked the door of his automobile and started pounding on the horn, attracting the eye of neighbours because the attackers bashed in his window.

The police informed the courtroom that Singh would have bled to dying from his intensive stab wounds.

Harnek Singh required over 350 stitches to his head and higher physique and a number of surgical procedures as a result of assault.
