The US Central Command on Thursday (January 18, 2024) mentioned Houthi launched two anti-ship ballistic missiles at an American-owned tanker ship in the Red Sea.

No injury was induced as a result of assault.

“On Jan. 18 at roughly 9 p.m. (Sanaa time), Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists launched two anti-ship ballistic missiles at M/V Chem Ranger, a Marshall Island-flagged, U.S.-Owned, Greek-operated tanker ship,” the US Central Command posted on X.

The crew of the vessel noticed the missiles influence the water close to the ship.

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan earlier described the assaults on Red Sea as acts of ‘terrorism’.
