Iconic designer Christian Louboutin visits India, takes part in Nagaland’s Hornbill Festival
2 min readLegendary shoe couturier and designer Christian Louboutin recently visited India to be a part of the ongoing Hornbill Festival. Synonymous with art and culture, the event takes place annually in Nagaland’s Kisama Heritage Village.
This year, the Hornbill Festival started on December 1 and will end on December 10.
Louboutin was part of the festival on December 7.
An official notification from Nagaland Tourism on Facebook also stated Louboutin’s presence, who was marked as an honoured guest.
Hekani Jakhalu, Advisor- Industries & Commerce Govt of Nagaland, took to X to share several pictures of Louboutin attending the event.

Jesmina Zeliang, the founder of Heirloom Naga, a community-driven enterprise from the northeast Indian state, reviving traditional Naga weaving techniques, shared images with Louboutin on Instagram.

This wasn’t Louboutin’s first visit to Nagaland. During an interview with Harpers Bazaar India in 2022, Louboutin had said he had “discovered exceptional savoir- faire and great artisans in Nagaland” during his 2022 visit to the country.
