India rejects China’s objection to PM Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Arunachal Pradesh
2 min readIndia has outrightly rejected China’s objection to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, media studies mentioned.
India has maintained Arunachal Pradesh “was, is, and can” stay an “integral and inalienable half” of the nation.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal mentioned in a press release, “We reject the feedback made by the Chinese aspect relating to the visit of the Prime Minister to Arunachal Pradesh. Indian leaders visit Arunachal Pradesh from time to time, as they visit different States of India.
“Objecting to such visits or India’s developmental initiatives doesn’t stand to purpose. Further, it won’t change the fact that the State of Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and can at all times be an integral and inalienable a part of India. Chinese aspect has been made conscious of this constant place on a number of events.”
China on Monday lodged a grievance with New Delhi over Modi’s final week visit to Arunachal Pradesh, which is claimed by the hostile neighbour.
India and China have an extended operating dispute over territorial boundaries, particularly over Arunachal Pradesh and elements of Ladakh underneath Jammu and Kashmir.
In 1962 China and India fought a short conflict over Aksai Chin (Ladakh area) and Arunachal Pradesh, however in 1993 and 1996 the 2 international locations signed agreements to respect the Line of Actual Control.
The 4,057 km-long Line of Actual Control (LAC) is the efficient border between India and People’s Republic of China (PRC).
