Indian Navy intercepts Iranian vessel hijacked by pirates, 23 Pakistani crew members rescued

The Indian Navy on Friday (March 30, 2024) rescued a hijacked Iranian fishing vessel, which was carrying 23 Pakistani crew members whereas responding to a pirate assault on the Arabian Sea, officers stated.
The anti-piracy operation continued for 12 hours.
“#INSSumedha intercepted FV Al-Kambar throughout early hours of #29Mar 24 & was joined subsequently by the guided missile frigate #INSTrishul,” the Indian Navy posted on X.
“After greater than 12 hrs of intense coercive tactical measures as per the SOPs, the pirates on board the hijacked FV have been compelled to give up,” the put up stated.
The Indian Navy stated all 23 Pakistani crew members of the ship have been rescued safely.
“Indian Naval specialist groups are presently endeavor thorough sanitisation & seaworthiness checks of the FV so as to escort her to a secure space for resuming regular fishing actions,” the put up stated.
