North Korea sends over 700 new trash balloons to South Korea

Pyongyang despatched the balloons simply days after 200 related balloons have been despatched to South Korea.
According to experiences, North Korea had despatched them in reply to sending propaganda leaflets from South.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) stated it has detected some 720 balloons that floated throughout the Military Demarcation Line separating the 2 Koreas and fell in numerous components of the nation between 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday, reported Yonhap information company.
The balloons carried varied items of trash, comparable to cigarette butts, paper and plastic luggage, identical to the earlier balloons, in accordance to the JCS.
“About 20 to 50 balloons are shifting per hour by means of the air and coming down in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, North Chungcheong Province and North Gyeongsang Province,” a JCS official informed the South Korean information company on the situation of anonymity.
No accidents have been reported up to now.
North Korea has been jamming GPS alerts close to the border since Wednesday, Yonhap information company reported.

Both the warring neighbours have reportedly used balloons as their propaganda techniques.
Earlier this month, a South Korea-based activist group claimed it despatched 20 balloons which have been carrying anti-North Korea leaflets and USB sticks containing Korean pop music and music movies throughout the border.
In 2020, Seoul’s Parliament handed a regulation to criminalise the launch of anti-Pyongyang leaflets.
